The Lady of Shalott is a medieval character narrated by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, and the subject of many Pre-Raphaelite paintings, the most well known being the John William Waterhouse version, which is on loan at The Collection in Lincoln from 31 May 2009, along with the film adaptation by WAG Screen, which premiered at The Odeon, Lincoln, 15th May 2009. Doll: Fabric, wadding, wool, polymer clay, wire, mirror, card, acrylic. h 30cm. The Lady of Shalott series of mirrors form a site specific installation around the Brayford Pool in Lincoln, as part of the Summer Gala, Saturday July 18th, 2009. You can follow the creation and development of this piece, before and after the event at this blog. Commissions are accepted for all dolls shown on this website.
