Characters to illustrate / animate Black Jack Davy & storyboards for animation

Black Jack Davy
 character for animation

Black Jack Davy is from the Child Ballads, reinterpreted  musically by 1970s folk rock band Steeleye Span, and  more recently by The White Stripes.
Black Jack Davy follows on from the dolls made as part  of Magne Furuholmen's "Scrabble" Exhibition, he is  made in the same way as Manga Magne. Information.
He is shown holding "The Lady", which is a painting  from The Squire's collection.

In keeping with Steeleye Span's All Around My Hat  album cover design, Black Jack's face has the same  anamorphic projection as the faces of the band, meaning  that his face can only be viewed normally from an  orthagonal angle.

The Squire
 character for animation

The Squire is a character from Black Jack Davy. He is a  wealthy landowner who possesses a large art collection,  including a painting of his Lady, and this rather Holbein  style diamond encrusted skull....

The Lady
 character for  animation

The Lady is possessed by the Squire, she is a kept woman, a  commodity, and a painting in his collection. She is "stolen" by  Black Jack Davy and hung in the Tate Modern instead, where  overnight, like in Bagpuss, she comes back to life,
and she  and Black Jack Davy go on the run to escape the Squire. The  Lady's hair is fully articulated for animation.
